June? Really?

I can hardly believe it's June now.  Holy cow!  We'll be flying out to UT in no time... but first there is much to do!

This has been a good short week.
Wednesday I took the boys to the park for play group.  It was at the Northtown Center.  They got a kick out of the snow pile, left from the Zamboni.  They were throwing snowballs at each other, and of course O was eating the snow, yuck!  It was good to visit with friends.  I really should do it more often.
I took the boys to the store to return some stuff after that.
Wednesdays are always nice for me because I know we have nothing in the evening.  M came home and we had dinner together.  I tried a new recipe from the blessed Pinterest.  It was a rice/bean bake.  We rolled it into tortillas and ate it all up.  So nice when the kids will eat new food!

Thursday I did more returns, watched kids at institute, tried to find Molly, dropped her a little gift in anticipation of her first triathlon.  Found her!  Took Tyce for the afternoon.  The boys played really well together and I got some stuff done.  I finished some felt flowers I've been making.  G had a play date so there was some dropping off, Q stayed home today.  If I let her she'd play every day w/ Bella, but I have to have some limits!  G had baseball practice, the kids played at the school while he practiced.  I went to dance.  I am now in a bit of a panic, feeling like the show is so soon and I don't feel like my dances are in my body enough that I don't have to think about them.  My modern number needs some polishing and there are only 2 classes left... eek!  Feeling it!  I need to practice!

Friday I worked on photography orders and edits.  I dropped off a disc to Berardi Law.  It was a super rainy day, so we stayed in jammies and took it easy, so nice!  Matt brought home pizza so I didn't even have to cook!

Saturday morning I got up at the but crack and headed out on my first 18 miler.  I've been so anxious about this day.  I'd been off my leg (w/ the exception of a few short runs) for 2 weeks.  My last long distance was 14.  I was anxious.  It was dark at 5am and I wasn't sure if the rains were still coming.  I thought I might wait until the afternoon.  SO glad I just went!  It was a great run!  I was just under 8/mile, I even ran the Youngs hill twice.  My legs felt strong.  The exception was at about mile 14.  I felt my first injury resurfacing, a deep calf pull.  My shin felt fine, but man that cramp made me stop.  I stretched it for a minute, a couple of times.  After about a mile it calmed down.  The last mile I was talking myself through the finish, keep the pace, push faster... ugh!!!  I did it!!!  I was so happy!  I feel that I'll be fine doing the marathon!  I still have plenty of time to train and taking time off for this last injury hasn't set me back much.  I'll be fine.  What a relief!

I came home and we got the kids bfast, all got dressed and headed out to the Fun Run at Delaware Park.  Totally free, for the whole family.  It was so great!  G had been looking forward to this for a while.  I was super happy to have a sport to share w/ him.  It was windy, rainy and cold, but we went anyway.  Many of our friends were there.  I didn't take the camera because of the rain.  So glad Eliza brought hers...

They started w/ a mini dash for the little's. O kept telling me he was going to win the mini dash. We pinned their numbers on and I took them to the start line. They both ran it twice, once so dad could see, and got medals. They LOVED it! Wish I'd have gotten photos of that, maybe next year.
The race started after that.  G wanted to try to run the whole 2.8 miles so I stayed w/ him.  We had to stop for a potty break and I tried to coach him as we went.  He did really well, he's never run even a mile w/o stopping.  We walked here and there, but he ran most of the way.  I was really proud of him.  Q came in next, it was so fun to see her and cheer her on, then M came w/ the boys.  O was running w/ him.  This was M's first ever 'race'!  We all cheered them through the gates.
It's not secret I love running.  I enjoy racing and to do it as a family was super great for me!  We ate fruit after, visited for a minute then headed out of the cold!

The sun came out later and M took G to his baseball game.  I stayed home w/ the kids.  HOT shower and stretching for me!  I was able to craft and the kids played.

We watched 'The Karate Kid' as a family w/ popcorn.  The kids loved it.  We did too, took us back!  Yesterday during sacrament meeting O asked if I remembered the karate kid, then went into the crane move, hilarious!  They enjoyed it!
