3 Dirty Little Secrets!
I have a friend who recently had a birthday. I thought it may be nice to sit and paper craft, make a card, it's been a while.
Then I walked into my room and remembered... I can't walk in!!!
It is a DISASTER!
Everything gets dumped here AND it's my creative space, and I do a lot of creative things!
So on top of all the other putting away and cleaning up and getting ready I need to do... add this to the list!
This is my dirty little secret! :) Don't hate me for being so messy!
These next two secrets really aren't dirty! This next one is a little sticky though!
One of the problems I run into when coming home from vacation is the following:
I have this new book or shirt or décor item... where should I put it?
Of course I wouldn't just put it somewhere, I have to re organize everything to find a space for it!
This was the case with some books I bought. They are tall, I want them in my living room.
I'm in the process of accessorizing my tall bookcase from the room re-do before I went to UT.
PS have you seen the before and after of this thing? It was such a fantastic facelift!
Anyway, I remembered I have extra shelves for this. I went and got the shelf... problem, the little shelf feet look like this...
The problem was they are too small for the hole, which means sagging, which means falling shelf!
Solution... sticky putty! I have this stuff for the laminated file folder games I made for the kids. It's a great alternative to noisy Velcro while you're sitting in church... anyway, it's what I had, it's what I used!
I tore a small piece of it off, smooshed it into the hole, then put in the foot.
It fills in the extra space, and it's sticky, so it holds the foot nicely.
I still need to get this little guy how I want it, but here is the extra shelf in it's place.
Last secret I want to share... The Wood Connection!
The 'dirty' part of this secret is that when I go to UT each year I am a full on hoarder when I go to this store! I always come back with blank wood to make new projects, even if it takes me a year or two to get to them!
This year I asked if they ship... they said they finally have an online store! Yea! It's about stinkin' time! Not everything is available for shipping, but there is a great selection that is!
I'm sharing this secret with you! This is what I want to get this year...
You get the wood blank and you can do what you will with it.
Last year I got a witch boot and made this for Halloween...
I've also made these cute gifts, both sides for my girl and boys...
