Birthday Love

Last week we had two birthday's in our house.
Garrison turned 7. Emerson turned 2. Oh my, my baby turned 2! Crazy!
At this moment I have 2 two year olds!
Matt turns 36 on Wednesday.
Owen turns 3 on Saturday.
All boy birthdays smooshed onto just a couple of weeks!

We rotate friend birthday parties at this house. Q had hers this year. G will have his next year. We had a family party, and had the C's over since Shawn has been MIA! I had pink eye, so we didn't go to church, Happy Birthday! I made a birthday banner and hung it in the kitchen. We made tacos for dinner. If I let G choose his favorite food, we'd all be eating PB&J! He will eat tacos though, so we went with that! We had a cake, and blew candles out twice. We opened presents, taking turns. Poor O was the only guy who didn't have gifts. He was confused and sad! Fortunately E doesn't quite get it all yet, so O got to help open one of his. It was a good birthday. I need to work out some sort of schedule so I have the energy to give everyone the birthday love they deserve!

Garrsion...
Nicknames: Gary-da-gers, Gar, Gary(I don't like this one, Matt says it to make me cringe!), Gerson, Bubba, Bubba-da-gers.
Loves shooting hoops right now. He's actually VERY good, because he is always practicing. It is his most favorite passtime right now, and his favorite sport. He is all over March Madness! The record keeping, the game watching, the bracketing, loves it! He is starting baseball this week, that used to be his favorite sport. He is exceptionally smart. He asked his first grade teacher a few weeks ago if 7x8 was 56. He was figuring out how many days there were in two months. He knows facts like what are the five largest countries, the tallest mountain range, the longest mountain range, Brazil's capital, Canada's capital, most of the 50 state's state capital. He just is crazy smart. In fact on his bday he came down and asked Matt if he'd do math facts with him for his bday! WHAT? He enjoys reading and understands what he reads. He is a daddy's boy. He has a sensitive heart. He looks for/can't find his shoe when it's on his foot! He holds the line. He is precise and doesn't like to see his siblings doing things wrong, nor does he like to do them wrong himself. He won't help his brothers if they are crying, but he will police them and tell then when they shouldn't do something. His buddies from school are Ryan, Peter, Luke. He loves to eat nuggets and fries, PB&J, pizza. He has grown tremendously in eating new and other things. He actually likes to eat apples and grapes now! He will try what we ask him to, because he is obedient. He is such a good boy. He really does his best to do what he knows is right. He doesn't like to waiver. He loves to laugh and giggle. He loves to be active. He loves a challenge. When I ask him, he is helpful. BUT, I have to be very specific and ask, then he is willing to help! He is in charge of emptying 2 garbage's, the bottom shelf of the dishwasher, and his room. We love this not-so-little-anymore boy. It is fun to watch him grow and see what he is becoming. He is such a great member of our family.

Emerson...
Nicknames: Zem, Zemmy, Emmers, Zemmy-zoo
This boy loves puzzles! He is very good at them too! I am so in love with him! I love this age! I love to see him trotting everywhere, knees high! He loves to bunny hop. He may be my thrill seeker, he loves to jump off of high things. He follows O around all of the time and sometimes is quite the little pester-er. He is becoming a bit sassy and curls his brow at me with a grump face all of the time! It's his first response to anything I say, then he processes the info and his face brightens, then I get his real response. He has a huge vocabulary for a child just turning two. He already speaks in sentences. He loves blanky, any one of the 4 he and O now share. I think his green one is still his favorite. He walks on tip toes. He is a great eater, I don't know that he has any favorites right now. He may weigh more than O, if not the same. He loves to laugh, loves to be tickled, loves 'nuggles. He LOVES Dora and Diego, and 'cooby-doo'.

M and I were watching TV the other night and E was out of his crib. He came down and we got to spend some alone time with him, reading, chuckling at his cute behavior. It was good. He is always in his crib so we never see him after we put him to bed. He is growing out of his crib. He has been in that crib longer than any of the other kids. We'll get him a big-boy bed soon.
I love watching him. I find myself stopping often and just watching. It breaks my heart to think he may be my last time through these stages. I'm trying to savor them. He is adorable. Even though he has some sass, he's a pretty obedient boy, we'll see how much of that sticks. I can't imagine my life w/o this sweet little boy. He makes me so happy. I'm so glad he is part of our family.
