I can breathe...

I feel like the craziness of life is letting up a bit and I can breathe both figuratively and literally!

I got a nasty sore throat and cough when I came home from Ragnar.  It was probably the no sleep, running through the middle of the night and cold temps that did it to me.

A week and a half ago we listened to General Conference.
I was out shooting a wedding all day Saturday, so this Sunday was extra nice, to just be home, be with my family, to let everything else go, to just listen.

Life goes at such a quick pace sometimes... it is loud and 'in your face'.
There is always a project, something to do, someplace to be, something to get ready for.
I love the still of Sunday time to listen with my heart.

We all got up slow.
I made a huge breakfast.  Bacon.  Eggs.  Pumpkin and chocolate chip muffins.
It fed my soul!  I used to enjoy cooking and baking.  I hope to ignite that joy again, now that I have the kitchen for it.

While we waited for Conference to start the little's played outside.
I made a sling shot and a bow for these two.  They have held onto them.
O even asked me to make one for our neighbor friend.

I started listening early to what I missed on Saturday.  I worked on organizing my room a little.
Q came in and asked me to get the sewing machine ready.
She has been sewing in home and careers and wanted to make a skirt for her doll.
One of my projects is to redo my little sewing table, but for now there is a crazy board on top of it!
She didn't care...
I love this photo.  I still can't believe how she is grown!  We are seeing snippets of teen sass coming our way, but also the joy of having older kids.

The kids like to do Bingo while they listen, Q took notes.
There is no food or candy in our family room.  We used game pieces and scrap paper instead.
They were all able to recall stories and lessons they heard a week later...
We never know how much they take in, but if they aren't offered the opportunity, we can be sure they hear nothing!

Can you see the pouty face?
This one can pout with the best of them!

These are good moments together, close.
I heard so much, there is much to poderize over the next 6 months until the next one.
