I. Need. New. Running. Shoes...

And just when my Achilles feel like they are going to snap... new shoes!

Of course I wait until I feel like this to order them, then have to keep running in my 'dead' shoes until they arrive.
I'm torn between running, risking further injury, and not running, thus not being prepared for the half marathon I signed up for... which in just a few weeks!

I wear my running shoes to the very death of them!
Finally when my calves start cramping up, my Achilles feel like they have no more give, and I get sore, I know it is time to re-buy.

I faced this same issue last year and ended up with a mean little calf pull that just would not go away!  It kept me from some training and was pretty crippling.  I have felt my L calf start with this again.  I don't want to make it worse so I am heating my leg, rolling it, massaging it.  I'm sure it will go away once I get into my new shoes.

What do you do?
I ran 3 days last week, then we had a really nice day so Matt came home from work early and wanted to go for a bike ride.  This was the perfect solution duh!  We've not had good weather so I hadn't thought of that.
We rode 20 miles and my feet and legs thanked me for giving them a break!
This was my first time out on my bike this year... I am so glad to have it.  I love it, although I still am part chicken when it comes to cycling.  Have you ever seen a chicken on a bike? :)

Yes, this is a 'nice' day!  Hard to believe, but it really does get pretty when all of the death comes to life!

Ain't that just a picture of fabulous right there?  It is just hard to look good in a bike helmet!

I took Friday off and hoped my shoes would be here for my long run Saturday.  They weren't.  They did arrive later though!  You bet I let out a little squeal of delight in that moment!

I ended up going on a run/walk w M.  We have this thing where I run ahead on my own, then come back and visit a minute then continue on.  He likes to walk.  I was really struggling Saturday.  I ended up only going 7 miles, then walked the rest with M.

Coming off of this sickness has been a challenge for my running.  I don't feel like myself.  My muscles have felt fatigued and tired.  It's crazy, and frustrating.

Here are my numbers for the week.  I am adjusting my expectations for the race that is May 2!!

Do you have any races coming up?
