Our First Few Days... Rest, Theft, The Fun Center

Whew!  Hello!  It's been a few days right?
Honestly, there has just been too much fun, and not enough time to be on a computer!
While on vacation I just want to record all of our days!  This is our family journal and I want these memories to last for us, so here is where I will record them.
You are welcome to check in and see how we are doing this summer!

Sunday July 6:  Travel and Rest Day
Our poor kids were so tired!  We got them up at 6 Saturday morning, then at 5 Sunday morning.  They were tired, but did so good!  Once we tell them it's time to go on the plane they are willing and ready to go.
We had the car all packed so we headed to the airport and got all checked in curbside.  I'm so appreciative of that feature!  With my tons of luggage!
We said by to M, love him so much, went through security, which was also a breeze... we didn't have to take any shoes off, didn't have to take anything out of our bags, just sailed right through.
We boarded easily and were off.  The first flight all the kids slept but E.  It is a pretty quick flight to Chicago.  The plane was full, which is always fun for the big kids who have to sit by a stranger!
We got off the plane in Chicago, after moving our stuff forward, then walked around, used the potty, bought 2 expensive smoothies, that weren't that good.  We got back on the same plane and took off again.

E took a long nap.  I wished I could sleep.  We had all 6 seats, no strangers.  G got to sit by the window the whole time.  O watched a movie, and went potty several times, (Always fun when the seat belt light is on and your kid is about to pee his pants!  Our stewardess was awesome and just told us to be careful.)  Q read Harry Potter and I read my book.
A nice man helped us get all our bags off the baggage claim, he was so nice!  I loaded up our cart and we met my mom outside.
Man UT is hot!!!
The kids ran to hug their grandma, O said he's so excited to see her because she makes him pancakes!
Gma Helen's van is in the shop getting the AC fixed so we borrowed Ryan's car, and cute Bonnie picked us up too, to help with all our cargo!
After unloading everything (about 1 or 2 our time) I sat to talk to mom and could hardly keep my eyes open!  I needed a nap.  I crashed for 1.5 hours.  If you know me, you know this is a very long nap for me!  My body felt tired, my head felt tired, I felt relief to finally be here!  It was time to crash!
Gma and the kids visited and played outside.
When I got up I made plans with friends, made us dinner, we watched a couple of movies, I caught up with mom, the kids played the piano, and Legos.  They were ready to see cousins, but it was good to just have a rest day!  Although we were tired I was hoping they'd stay up a little later to avoid the 6am wakeup call!
We all slept in on Monday and it was fabulous!   We needed that!

Monday:  Lost My Camera
I still felt a little worn down.  I took one more rest day from running.  I'll get into marathon training next.
Gma got the kids bfast as I headed to the store.  I got us things like shampoo, sunscreen etc.  I didn't pack any of that.  Also, mom's house is a little barren as far as food goes, so I went shopping.  It took me a while as my cc wouldn't work.  They had suspended it on suspicion of fraud.  I had to call and verify that it was indeed me across the country using my own cc!  So thankful they do that, really I am!
After lunch I took the kids to 7 Peaks in WVC.  We renewed our passes then got our swim on!  We had so much fun!  The park wasn't too busy.  Q played w. the boys while G and I went on a few slides.  We also crossed the water using the overhead cables.  We were ninjas!  I need to video that!  It was fun.

E got into a fight with a little boy that butted in front of him.  We sat while he was in time out, the big kids went to the wave pool.  I tucked everything into our bag when we were done and we played in the wave pool for a while.  I saw a high school friend Joey, we visited.  The kids had fun.
We were going to hit the lazy river after another sunscreen application, but as we got back to our stuff I realized my little Canon camera was gone along with our season passes and food card (they were in the camera case.)  I dumped my bag out 3 times, looked through every pocket, checked at the lost and found, twice... oh WVC what are you doing to me!  Gone!
That pretty much finished us off for the day!  Q was really upset about it.  I was annoyed, not going to lie, but, on the bright side I had taken my licence and cc out of that little case prior to us going in.  The passes were replaceable, so is the camera.  It stunk, but sometimes it's good to remember things are just things.
After cleaning up we went out to eat at IHOP.  Kids eat free with our meals!  Yea for that!  I missed capturing a few moments with my little camera.  Sad.
There were some prayers said, I hoped someone would turn that in.
After dinner the kids watched a movie while I edited some photos, trying to figure out my color calibration on the laptop.  Grrr.
We got a call from the water park that someone had turned in my camera!  What?  Yeaaaaaa!  I asked where it was found and they just said a lifeguard had brought it in.  Don't even care!  Just glad to have that back!
E wanted to sleep w/ gma last night.  Thought that was so cute!  I remember sleeping with my gma, in her waterbed, when I'd go down to stay with her.  I'd often feel homesick at night so sometimes I slept with her.  I can still smell the air from her open window, and hear the train whistle in the distance.
Q is really missing B's kids thus far.  Gma's house is not the same with them gone!

Tuesday: More Swimming
I got up this morning to go running.  Not the most scenic running here, but getting it done!
Gma made pancakes for the kids this morning.  They love all of the fancy shapes she does for them!
We sat outside this morning while the kids played soccer.  Morning and evening = best outdoor play!  Not too hot!
G, O, E, Gma and I played Shoots and Ladders 2 times!  We had a great time!  Don't love when my kids pout when they aren't in first, love to remedy that with all of us cheering for each other the whole time... good sportsmanship.  G was really good at encouraging that with his little brothers today.

After lunch we headed to the WV pool and met Jeni, B, W and J.  The kids had a ton of fun.  Q was so glad to have a play pal.  The boys love wrestling with their cousins, playing tag, G went down the water slide.  Jeni and I visited, mom read.  It was fab!

The kids came over to gma's to play for a while.  We ate a bunch of popcicles, they played soccer.

Took the kids out to eat at Wendy's then took them to Hollywood Connection for mini golf, arcade games and rides.
Q was sulky for most of the time, but we had a good few minutes of golf time where she was happy!  What are you gonna do?
Thelast ride was the first big ride I think E has been on (not pictured, but video-graphed).  He was a little nervous as we whirled around and around!  G and O were laughing and loving it.  I loved the bumper cars with my kids, so funny!  They loved the arcade, of course, and G got a bunch of tickets.  He's so nice to always share some of his prizes with his little brothers, love that about him.
