Party Time } My Christmas Party Look

Yea, it's Friday!

I'll be posting my flashback later today.  I want to start holding true to form, posting both my OOTD as well as my normal posts.

Last week we had our ward Relief Society Christmas Event

We have it every year at Spaulding Lake Clubhouse, it's always beautiful.

I invited my good friend Paula, and cute Katie (from pre-k).

It was a party, so of course I got all dressed up for it!

Our theme this year was Christ Centered Christmas.

It was based on this book.

Some thoughts I jotted down as I listened to the excerpts from the book, and the beautiful music sung by sisters in my ward family...

- Christ growing into His knowledge of himself (I've been thinking a lot about this as I've been reading Jesus The Christ.) and how his parents were diligent to help Him find that... even unknowingly, just being consistent with everyone else at that time and raising their child to know his faith and religion.

- The three gifts...joyful, needful and meaningful to celebrate His royalty, humanity and divinity.

Remember my own gifts...

- Find another way, as the wise men did.  It may not be the clearest, it may not be what everyone else is doing, I may feel alone at times, but being on that path will keep me in my place of truth.

- The lamb knows the voice of the Shepard.

They are loyal to him, because of his devotion to them.

This one really got me.  I love those words and how they connect and bind to each other... loyalty and devotion.  It paints a picture of unity and connection, love and trust, confidence and peace.

I feel this way in my own relationship to my Savior.  I am loyal to Him, I have faith in Him, I hear his call and follow where He leads.  I will answer Him, I will always seekHim.  Why?

Because I feel of His devotion to me.  I have felt His love, comfort, peace, prompting.  I have felt cradled in His arms of protection and love.  I have felt peace through His clarity and truth.  I have never felt alone when I have reached to Him.  This is what brings joy to my life, this connection, this love and trust, confidence and peace.

It was a beautiful night... and of course there was great food, laughs, friendship... I loved it!

Back to what I wore! :)

I got these fur leg warmers last year for a shoot I did.  I'd yet to wear them!  Melissa borrowed them at Halloween so she could be a Viking!  I'm not sure I'd ever wear them to church, but I want to wear them with a skirt.  This was a great opportunity!

This is my $5 Charlotte Russe skirt!  Oh, yes, I love when I find inexpensive clothes!

My sweater is this sheer, gold thing I wore here.

The cuff came from Downeast Basics a couple of years ago.

You can see that I just layered the leg warmers over my black booties.
