Closet Organization in the Boys Room

Will you still like me if I tell you something gross?

I sure hope so because I've got nothing to hide!

I've been cleaning and rearranging my craft room/office right?  Because I finished this table

and it's time to put it all together... this is an endless project because I've got so much crap

stuff to find a house for, so I can always look clean and organized... this has been my hope for years!

I digress.

So, I'm looking at my scrapbooking desk and I see something all pretty and sparkly sitting in a cubby.

Well, what could that be, I love sparkly things... I pick it up...

What do you think that is?  I'll give you a hint...

from last year

...

Okay, okay, now you can pull a yuck face and tell me I'm disgusting!

Indeed that is my toenail... that fell off... last year!  I'm a little grossed out by my behavior, but honestly I still haven't thrown it away, but I promise I will right after I'm done typing!

Whaaaat?  I'd never had a toenail fall off before, even this year after the marathon, still had all of my toenails!  It was a memento!

Speaking of toes... this is their current state...

I think my nails and I need to make time for each other sometime today!  As you can see from my thumb nail above, they all need some love!  These are things that get pushed all the way down to the bottom of the priority list these days.

Going with today's theme of airing out my secrets, how about this one...

I love this smell this time of year.  This is a Yankee candle that is branded for our wholesale store.  Spicy Pumpkin is delish!  Would you believe that this guy has been burning for the last couple of days... straight?  Woooooops!  Sure am glad my house hasn't burned down!

Now a dose of inspiration... hopefully!

A couple of weeks ago we stayed in during a

rainy Saturday

... which proved to be quite productive.

My fab husband installed a closet system in the little boys room.

This room has been OOC!  Before I had the boys it was the play room.  Enter boys to our lives and it's sort of a play room (because they all watch TV/Movies in there), but bedroom too.  The boys still have a lot of toys and storage was a

big

issue.  I fold all of their clothes and put them in a large dresser.  I don't need the closet for that.  It has become a catch-all!

I used to have a little storage unit in the closet.  I moved it into the basement a couple of years ago, when I moved a load of toys out.  Still, they will have things that need to be stored in their room.  I tried using the changing table as shelving, but it was awkward to get stuff in and out, and the shelves aren't that sturdy.

I didn't throw that away though... yah right!  I'll show you it's new home soon!

Back to the closet.  Such a pity these boys have the largest closet up stairs...

Matt asked if I wanted the closet system so this can be

my

closet now... it already

is

, they

all

are!  I have stuff in everyone's closets!

Here we go... we just bought a

Rubbermaid

 system from

Lowe's Home Improvement

and Matt got busy!  Seriously LOVE him for this!!!

Work it! :)

Isn't it so pretty!  It really still makes me smile!  I needed more shelves and it was simple to add on, with pieces we already had.

This was a really good day!  You know, one of those days you feel like you have control of your own world again!  Organization is empowering!

Really, there is so much extra room I'm now going through other closets to move things around, it's so great!

The boys have been awesome!  Now everything that is theirs is right where they can easily reach it, and more importantly put it away when they are done with it!

Why did I wait so long to do this?

Next up... bunk beds!  Then I'll show off this cute boys room!
