Our October

I can't believe October is almost over.  HOLY COW!
I haven't posted much on our family happenings, that is what I'm doing today... I may also get my usual Sunday post in.

Here are some snippets from our life here this past month...

The weather has been amazing this month.  Still popcicle weather!
This boy can rock the skinny jeans, my only boy who can.  He's so stylish!  He recently has strong opinions about what he's wearing and whether it's cool or not.  Sometimes I have to tell him he's mistaken... I wouldn't buy not cool clothes!

I bought E this adorable hat early this month.  He loves it and wears it all of the time!  We've even had to take it off him before we go to bed because he wears it to sleep!
Is he not the cutest little boy?  He's totally my favorite right now!  The things he says, the way he loves me, we spend time together before preschool, I just adore him!

We were telling dad about me going into his pre-k class earlier this month.  I was being all goofy singing with the kids and I said 'I'm the cool mom huh E'... he said 'you are the beautiful mom'... see my favorite!  It melted my heart!

He's quick to say sorry, he belly laughs with the best of them, likes to hold my hand, loves this rope swing!  Really, every morning after walking Q to school he asks if he can stay out and swing on the swing!

We listened to General Conference earlier this month and I made cinnamon rolls.  That is a big deal because I rarely bake, it takes forever and I'm totally satisfied having cinnamon bears which take 5 seconds to grab and eat!  It was a special occasion though.

The kids did a great job listening.  They played bingo with candy.

These kids are still way into the rainbow loom.  Even O has learned how to make bracelets and will make them with his fingers.  I love it.  It keeps them busy.  G has recently figured out how to do new weaves.  He's great at it.

G is also very happy it's football season right now.  Every day he wants to check stats on ESPN.  He's chosen to be a football player for Halloween.  We bought him an LSU football costume.  It's his favorite team.

The kids have been outside gathering leaves to jump into.  We didn't have many at the beginning of the month, but they sure have fallen these past couple of weeks.

We loved our 3 day weekend over Columbus day.  O wanted to be like his big brother and play chess with his dad.  He waited so patiently and Matt taught him how to play.  I love to see them developing this thinking skill.  I even saw Q playing herself.  Of course I didn't say anything, it would scare her off.

Q has a nail biting habit.  She's been working hard to stop.  She has done a great job recently and because of that I did gel nails for her.  That was a great reward for her.  She chose red polish.

Also this month...
We got new closet doors for our room, now you don't have to look in my closet when I post here!

We got bunk beds for the little boys.  It has made such a big difference in their room, a lot more room in there!  O has been climbing out more often in the night.  He may be a little scared of it.  You know what is worse than tucking a child in on a mattress that's on the floor?  Trying to put a sleeping child on the top bunk of a bunk bed!

I have been to the school several times for recess duty and this past week went in to help in O's class for the Grandparent Tea.

I lunched with my girlfriends on Friday and Tara dropped a bomb on us all.  Their family is moving to Ohio next month.  Sweet, another good friend outta here...

We've had some continued drama with 5th grade.  It's proving to be quite the challenge.  We will eventually overcome... I am hopeful!

I printed off a bunch of photos... I want to get back to my scrap desk... speaking of that my room is finally coming together, I hope to show it off soon.
