A big deal...

We've had some pretty big goings on here in our home...

Q had her orchestra concert...

This is quite the deal.  This little one didn't love playing the violin.  She kept complaining about her instrument, the strings, the bow... she couldn't practice because it sounded funny and something was wrong with her violin...

I tried to correct a few things with her... press down into the strings a bit more, hear how it changes the sound, more volume?  Watch your wrist if you don't get the hair of the bow on the strings nice and flat it makes a funny sound...

I don't profess to be any kind of music instructor.  I remember taking violin when I was young, but really I can't help all that much.  I'm sure lessons would be great for this purpose, the music instructor really doesn't have time to help each kid individually.  I felt at a loss for a while, because she just didn't want to practice...

We argued a little...

I tried to help her and just asked her to pay attention.  If the sound is off this may be the reason.

A few weeks ago she came home and was so excited to practice!  She all of a sudden loves it!  Why?  It doesn't sound funny anymore!  She corrected those couple of things... on her own, because I'm no music teacher!  She had to find it on her terms and now she likes it!  Hoooray!

So, this concert was a big deal and we made it a big deal.  She does not like to be in front of people, but she did great!

We took the whole family, got her flowers, went for ice cream after the whole nine yards!

So proud of my girl... way to push through!

G is now a bear...
I know he looks like a normal kid, but he transformed from a wolf to a bear!
We had the blue and gold banquet last weekend and along with racing in the pinewood derby, G also advanced to a bear.

We are super proud.  M didn't do scouting... they are doing it together!

M and G worked on this car together.  M didn't weight it at all so it was super light.  G didn't win any races, but watch out... next year we'll be better prepared!  He had a great time watching the pinewood derby!

O goes to the dentist...
This was the first time for this little man.  It's a requirement to go into pre-k.  With Q and G we had friends nearby who were dentist who could look them over quickly and sign our papers for us!  O actually had to go to the dentist!

He was a little nervous, his older brother told him it may hurt!

I bought this cute book I found at JoAnn Fabrics for a whole $3.
O and I went through it.  I think it helped him to know sort of what to expect.
We just go to a family dentist, but our hygienist is the best!  Miss Lorraine has been fabulous with the kids.  She takes the time to tell them what is going to happen and teaches them about her tools.
AND O got to wear the cool sunglasses!  He was very brave and has beautiful, healthy teeth.
E gets a gold star for coloring quietly the whole time!  Love that angry bird coloring book!

E didn't have anything big happen recently, but he did come in and want to 'nuggle the other evening.  As I stroked his cute little face he fell asleep on my lap.  Love my little man.  He makes me so happy!  I don't want this one to grow up...

Also this week...
-I booked another bride!  I have three weddings so far this year, each in a different month.
-I ran with a new buddy!  I have waited years to find someone around my pace to run with!  Enter Natalie.  We ran 8 on Tuesday and really it was so great!  Sunny, great conversation, great pace!  It was inspirational for me!  Excited to get my butt in gear...
-We talked about having a healthy heart at AD.  I did the beginnings of a modern class with the girls and Molly taught them about muscles.  We played some games.  The girls loved it!  They boys usually have the gym so we don't use it.
-I made a very big purchase!
-I got us a nanny... so we could make another big purchase!!!!  The hubbs and I are going to the Caribbean in April with my sis and her hubbs!  Glorious!  I can't wait!
