Recent Finds...

Saturday was a day that just kept giving to me!
I came home from my run and stopped at my neighbors house to pick this up.  She had a yard sale a couple of weeks ago and this guy was left over.  I took him lickety split!  Old school bench, the bottom folds up, love it!  Should be great for family photo shoots.  $15.  Nice!

I drove to Wilson for a photo shoot. On my way home I found several things just hanging out, waiting for trash day. Call me a dumpster diver if that makes you feel good, realize though that there are no dumpsters involved!

I found a unique dresser, side table, and a bench.  I have some projects coming up, but I did this one today.  I see this cute bench with a wee baby on it, all snuggly warm.  Can't wait to use it.  Little E helped me sand then paint it.  I'm so glad the weather was nice today.  It was a good day to get a project done.

It was a quick one.  E and I just did a light sanding with our sanding blocks.  I want it to stay 'rustic' so a smooth finish isn't necessary, just enough that no one gets a sliver.  I used Parrot Blue acrylic paint, that I watered down, and brushed it on w/ a paintbrush.  The watered down version acts more like a stain.  The water soaks into the wood and just a hint of the color stays.  After I brushed the whole bench I took some white and dry brushed just over the seat and backboard.  I went back with my full Parrot Blue and dry brushed with it just a little too.  Super fast project.  Husband will be so proud I've got one done already!

I also found this branch on the side of the road!  It's perfect for this month, the branches are so creepy and monster like!  I liked it so much I went back and got the other piece to use on my mantle.  Here it is in my family room.

Um, does that frame still not have photos in it?  Unfortunately yes, but isn't the frame so pretty!?  That was a good deal too!
