Little bits of Halloween

I feel like the Halloween spirit hasn't quite penetrated our home this year. I feel like it has come so fast, and I'm not ready. This year M said he would dress up... really? I have NEVER had that offer! You would think I would put our costumes higher on the priority list than even the kids!!! As one by one the days passed by I found I had less and less time to get out and search for our costumes. So here we are, at Halloween and no costumes for parents. Maybe next year. I hope the offer still stands!
Here are some little bits from the season.

I do love these paper lanterns.

I bought these new cups for us, they make me happy!

Q made sillouettes at school and brought the idea home. I found her and G at the table working so diligently. I didn't see what they were doing until the final product was complete. I was totally impressed. They had such a great time that a couple of days later they came up with the idea to make a haunted mansion and sat and made witches and mummies and ghosts, creepy cats and such for it. They hung it all in the stairway to the basement. I am so in love with my little artist and their work!

This year I took the kids to Fall Fun Night at the school. It was our first year. I have not been interested in facing the chaos with our whole family. M stayed home w/ the little guys and I took the big kids. We went w/ the C's. It wasn't so chaotic and the kids had a great time. There were games in the classrooms, a cakewalk, a reptile/exotic animal show, food, pretty impressive. The few hours leading up to us going were quite chaotic. I hadn't finished G's bat costume and still had to run to the store for a few things. We were finishing right up to the point of leaving. I didn't finish his ears, but he was ok w/ that. They are done now and we are ready for the trunk-or-treat and Halloween night.
